Our Story

Gentle Paws was created from personal experience and a deep love of animals.

After losing our own dog, Rocky, we experienced first-hand how confusing and stressful arranging pet cremation could be. Unclear pricing, limited communication and uncertainty about when ashes would be returned made an already painful time even more difficult.

That experience led to a simple decision: we wanted to provide a more personal, transparent and compassionate service for other pet owners.

Gentle Paws was established to give families clear information, respectful choices and direct access to the people responsible for caring for their pets.

Our aim is to make every stage of the process easier to understand, from the first telephone call through to collection, cremation and the return of ashes where applicable.

Bella: The Heart of Gentle Paws

Bella, our German Shepherd, was our first cremation shortly before Gentle Paws opened.

Her story remains at the heart of what we do. She reminds us that every pet is an important member of someone’s family, whether they have been with us for many years or for a much shorter time.

We do not see pets as simply a service or a booking. We understand that each one has a name, a personality, a history and a family who loves them.
